Stand Up Against Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is systemic, aggressive, unwanted conduct between children that is negatively affecting the lives of countless children. Cyberbullying is especially harmful because perpetrators can harass their victims 24 hours a day via text messages, email, and social media. Today, most states have laws or policies aimed at preventing cyberbullying, but much more needs to be done to prevent this epidemic. Notably, anti-bullying laws are sometimes curtailed by our right to free speech so laws must be enacted that are narrowly tailored to not prohibit or unnecessarily restrict protected free speech. At this time, there is no federal law that specifically prohibits cyberbullying. Stand up. Fight. Eradicate.
